I still need to pick up the printer at Officeworks before I can try to claim my cash back reward from Canon website.

Printer can be declared for tax deduction.

I have not look at how much is the refillable ink.
Look for alternative inks or refillable inks online.


Update: 
The setup instruction is simple and straight forward as you need to look a the images. It doesn't explain much (which could be a problem if some of the procedure doesnt work). In my case It did not auto detect my WIFI network.

It doesn't also include the USB cable to connect your printer physically to your laptop/desktop as it is suppose to be a WIFI printer.


- It took me a while to figure out how to connect it to my wifi network as it did not detect my wifi automatically as it was looking for WPS (could be my wifi router is an old model)

If it did not detect your wifi network autmatically, try to configure your WAN manually to access your WiFi router.

Make sure the WIFI ICON on your Canon printer turns BLUE which means your printer is now connected to your WIFI network.

 You may now install Canon driver/software on your Laptop/Desktop (WiFi) capable and it should be able to detect your Canon Printer. IF you do not have cdrom, follow the link provided in the instruction to download over the internet.

How to deteremine your phone number (Telstra)

ISP provider usually have ways of checking if your address or phone line is supported.

BUT you need to know the phone number.

Assuming that you just move in to a new address and does not know the phone number on the premises, how qould you know what is the previous phone number?

- Plug in a phone handset and try to dial in " 12722123" and it will provide you the phone number assuming it from Telstra even if the line is deactivated.

You will only be able to find out if the exchange is enabled or not.

Something new: You can transfer your phone number from one serviceprovider to another

Here in Australia, it is possible to transfer your phone number from one service provider to another. This way, you can keep your phone number with you even if you decide to change providers. 

Usually, there is are no additional charge involve in porting your existing mobile number to another service provider. You can even change the ownership of the phone number (some providers charge a fee for change of ownership).

Virgin mobile will charge $25 if you want to request for change of ownership.  Optus does not charge for the change of ownership. I heard that Telstra does not charge as well.

From experience it only took a few hours for the transfer from one service provider to another to complete and it took less than a day for the change of ownership to complete .

Some providers provide phones that are lock to their services and charge fees to unlock the phone. Some has policies that you need to consume a certain amount before they can unlock the phone for free or you need to stay with them for a certain period of time.

Virgin mobile provides unlocked phones. You can use other SIM on their phone.
